A Case of Chords

melodia_draconisThe Gio arrived at nearly 9 PM on the 13th. I admired it, and my husband examined it. We were plucking strings for a while into the night.
My crash course on what chords even are extended into the next day, and I managed to commit A, E, and D to memory. Holy cow, do I lack dexterity in my fingers! I pictured the scene from Happy Gilmore when the sweet old lady complains to Hal, "My fingers hurt." Now I'm looking to memorize C, G, and F.
We stopped by a Music Go Round yesterday afternoon. It was a lovely little music store that I hadn't heard of before. I wish my dad could have been there to test out the guitars. We wandered around the selection, and I only spotted one left-handed oriented guitar among the whole floor inventory. My husband found a bass guitar to fiddle with. We ended up buying a nice gig bag for the Gio.
As I'm writing this, I realize how grateful I am to be learning how to play with my husband's support. He has a strong bond with music and music-making, and just last night he was sharing sounds in songs that he really likes, including the ghostly chorus in the background of the song Your Idol by the Saja Boys.
