I've neglected this blog, as well as practicing the guitar.

I've been struggling emotionally/mentally. Returning to my childhood home has made me homesick for the life that my husband and I were made to leave behind. We're both trying to navigate the trauma of family, but there have been more sad days than steady. Peace is a rare treat.

I have to remind myself to dust off the Gio, guilty for making the purchase at all. The guitar is staying - I hope to pick it up again in the future, when the bitter taste of this experience is behind me. My focus is on my artwork and getting paid for it. While I'm unemployed, the majority of my time will be spent building a personal and commission portfolio.

I'd like to keep writing in Melo Draco, so I think I'll shift the blog's focus from music/guitar to life in general.

I'm sorry to hear things have been so rough lately.

I think the best thing you can do isfocus on the things that bring you joy while you try and cope with trauma. Trauma has a way of eating away at everything if you let it. It's a beast that needs constrained.

I do hope you manage to pick up the guitar, as well! That sounds like a great way to express everything inside you.
